KÜLMAKUU (NOVEMBER)
Külmakuu or November is not an easy month with its complete darkness, coldness and mixture of rain and snow. It becomes harder and harder to wake up and the nature itself is almost as bare is it can be. Therefore we seek an inner light within ourselves, we start to light up our homes with cozy lighting and start to prepare for all the celebrations coming the next month. We have celebrations of Kadri and Mardipäev when we treat each other with a little sweet to cheer up during this dark time.
The aroma of Külmakuu with its scents of vanilla, orange, anise and gingerbread take us to the first opening Christmas fairs where this smells come from all the sweets in the stands - gingerbreads, cinnamon buns, candies, apples and caramel.
